Ten-hut! If you’re a big fan of weaponry-wielding women like the gun-toting, sky-flying ladies of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, then you may have already seen that Strike Witches: The Movie, the long-awaited follow-up to season 2, is finally up for pre-order! What you may or may not know is that the movie actually features several new Witch cutie cameos in addition to the familiar faces of Yoshika, Sakamoto, Shirley, and the other 501st girls. Many of the new characters hail from other installments of the Strike Witches franchise, like the manga or light novels, so if you’re familiar with those, these are a bit of a treat! (And of course, as many Strike Witches fans know, all of these new girls are also based on real-life historical ace pilots from World War II!)
The biggest new character is Shizuka Hattori, a stern but idealistic young cadet who dreams of becoming a brave Witch like Yoshika one day. But how will that work out, given Yoshika’s… condition after the end of season 2? This movie’s full of some of the best action scenes in the entire franchise, as well as lots of the fun character interactions and cute moments you know and love from the series. (Oh, and pantsu, of course.)
